Olga McAllister originally studied Architecture in St Petersburg, Russia and then in Boston, Massachusetts, before moving to Christchurch in 2007 where she worked as an architectural technician and designer until establishing her own business in North Canterbury in 2010, specialising in residential projects. She has completed a bachelor of Architectural Studies degree at Ara Institute of Canterbury and she has been a design LBP since 2012.

While always aiming to carry certain social responsibility and awareness in her work, in recent years Olga has turned her focus towards designing better performing houses in terms of human comfort level and energy efficiency. She believes that everyone deserves a warm and comfortable home and good design can help achieve that. Olga continuously carries out her research in the industry on things like heating type, solar heat gain and thermal mass, Passive House principles, healthier materials, sustainable cladding options and so on.
